Pete Thelen’s review of Earthling Society’s “Sci-Fi Hi-Fi” from the Spring 2010 issue of Expose magazine. He concludes “this is an excellent disc that every fan of contemporary spacerock should be hearing”. Earthling Society have gigs coming up at the Blue Room in Blackpool on August 26th, and at the ‘Deep In The Woods’ festival at Fell Foot on September 25th.

Mushroom in the Meeja

Summer’s Here & Now

Here & Now have a series of gigs lined up over the next two months, culminating in a special appearance at Hawkfest on the Isle Of Wight over the weekend of the 27th to 29th August. Before that they are playing at Bomfest near Barnsley on 17th July, Champions in Bournemouth on 20th August, and The Peel in Kingston on 21st August. Not quite a free tour, but take the best of Here & Now from the last three decades, and you’ll want to hand over all your spare cash anyway…

Mushroom Release Parties

Mushroom have two shows coming up in celebration of the release of “Naked, Stoned & Stabbed” – which has been in KUSF’s top five albums by local bands for weeks… The first show is Friday July 23rd at the Make Out Room in San Francisco (with McCabe & Mrs. Miller featuring long time Mushroom collaborator Alison Levy). The second show is Saturday July 24th at the Starry Plough in Berekeley (with Greg Ashley and East Bay Grease). If you’re not in the Bay Area and can’t travel down then KPFA will be broadcasting a live Mushroom performance, Thursday 22nd July, on Derk Richardson’s “Hear And Now” show at 10pm.
